I AGREE WITH YOU 100%!
I had an email come to me where someone named "Emma" was sending some poor soul
off onto my Carnahan
line because the person was researching "Thomas Casey Carnahan". I gave you info
on the Thomas S.
Carnahan I am researching (and his parents Wm. and Elizabeth McMillen Carnahan).
"Emma" was trying
to be helpful (I understand THAT), but was sending someone on a wild goose chase in doing
so! I
politely tried to let "Emma" know that Thomas Casey Carnahan is not the son of
Wm. and Elizabeth
Carnahan -- Thomas S. is and told her of the records I have from Guernsey Co., Ohio to
prove my
data. The Internet is nice, but boy is there alot of misinformation floating around.

I believe it's time we all stopped and took a deep breath. I'm
starting
to see what looks like conveniently manufactured lineages being
sent about. If we're not careful, there's going to be more false information
out there than truth.
For those who have access tot eh web, please go to this web page and
read the article by George C. Morgan published on 8 Jan 1999 entitled
Using Other People's Research.

I could ever hope to.
