I have had that happen to me on Bob V"s email. Try again--I have his address
as bcrnhn(a)juno.com Bob is a wealth of info on Carnahans.
Years ago, my daughter lived in Pittsburg and when I would visit there I
would spend a lot of hours there in the Carnegie libruary as well as in
Westmoreland Co. looking for whatever I could find. Somewhere in all of that
I contacted a lady by the name of Carol Carnahan who lived out around the
Blockhouse area. Through her I obtained this booklet of about 20 pages
called Carnahan"s of Westmoreland. The title page states "Brief History of
the Carnahan Family of Bell Township. Written by George F. Bateman. from
information recieved from the following sources Letter of Cora L. Davis to
John Erbin Carnahan 1932 Phamphlet written from the notes of John Mc
Creary, by his wife Dorothy G. Mc Creary. Various Westmoreland County
Histories."
This booklet has a wealth of information about the Carnahans in that area. I
would think that the Carnegie Lib. could help you find a copy. However the
last time I heard, access to their files is now limited. Won't hurt to try.
Good luck and if I can help you further--let me know. carneyc-----
