Morning Everyone,
Have an obit for you. This is Mary Ann Carnahan - daughter of Samuel
Carnahan and Mary Pyeatt from Washington Co., Arkansas.
She is descended from the Hugh Carnahan and Mary of Guilford Co., NC family
through their son John Carnahan and Janet Billingsley.
Mary Ann was b. 31 May 1828 and d. Sept. 4, 1921. She married Finis E.
Crawford. son of James Crawford and Louisa Buchanan.
So far I have 5 children for Mary Ann and Finis:
Edward - md Margaret Henry
Elizabeth - md Smith Kelleam
Anne - md William S. Moore
Ewing - md ???? Scott
Cyrus
I haven't worked on these children yet.

Am typing up a really, really long obit for James Carnahan White and will try
to finish it tonight and get it sent as well.

Obit - Fayetteville Daily Democrat - Fayetteville, Arkansas - 6 Sept.
1921
"Aunt" Mary Ann Crawford, the first white child born in Washington County and
the first child born at Cane Hill, died Sunday at the family home at Cane
Hill at the age of 93 years and 3 months. Funeral services were held Monday
afternoon from the Cane Hill Presbyterian Church and were attended by members of
many of the county's old families including Attorney Vol Walker, Mrs. W. N.
Bush, and Misses Pearl and Eddie White of this place, and Rev. E. A. Carnahan of
Gravette.
Mrs. Crawford was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam'l Carnahan who settled in
this section before 1828. She was a sister of Rev. P. L. Carnahan of
Bentonville and was related to a number of old families of the county.
