Emma - That is how I have placed them. I wish I knew more about this John -
there are several Johns that he could be. I think it could eventually be
figured out - maybe someone else has worked on it and knows which John he
is. We have a pretty good fix on John's age - we know that he was under 14
on October 20, 1741 when a guardian was placed over him:
Chester Co., PA Orphan's Court
page 88 - October 20, 1741
"Jane Carnahan one of the children of John Carnahan late Deced makes choice
of William Webb to be her guardian who is thereupon admitted &c. And the
court nominates and appoints James Coughron and David Kennedy to be
Guardians &c. to John and Mary Carnahan ye children of said John Carnaghan
deced who are minors and are thereupon admitted &c."
Jane was over 14 and chose her own guardian - Mary and John were under 14 so
guardians were appointed for them. (These were not physical guardians but
financial ones.) In the church court case in 1734 - John Carnahan Sr. makes
a remark about something his son said - so I would guess that John Jr.
probably was born by 1731. Linda

Hi Linda,
On your John Carnahan mentioned here:
His children were Jane, John, and Mary.
Am trying to see if I have these folks lined up correctly.
Is the daughter Jane listed here the Jane who married Capt. James Jack?
And is daughter Mary Carnahan listed here the one who married Joseph
Brady?
And then... we don't know who the son John married - Right?
Thanks again - Emma
