MRS. CARNAHAN BURIED – A PARALYTIC STROKE SUFFERED ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE CAUSED THE DEATH OF
Mrs. Elsie Carnahan, 88, Calumet, on August 4, at Palmer Lake resort near Colorado
Springs, CO. Mrs. Carnahan had gone there to spend the summer.
She came to Oklahoma with her husband, the late M. R. Carnahan from Nebraska, in 1893 and
settled southwest of Calumet. Mr. Carnahan died in 1928. Funeral services were conducted
for Mrs. Carnahan at 2:30 PM Monday in the Calumet First Christian church by Rev M B
Pringle, pastor of the First Christian Church in El Reno. She was buried in the El Reno
cemetery. Two sons, John Carnahan, El Reno, and Albert Carnahan of Calumet survive Mrs.
Carnahan, in addition to give daughters, Miss Emily Carnahan, Mrs. A. J. West and Mrs.
Ella Westfall all of Calumet. Mrs. Allie Burge, Pampa, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Lassen of
Wichita, Kansas. A brother George Crumpacker, Arapaho, also survives her.
(Elsie (Crumpacker) Carnahan was born in Nov 1851, Indiana, the daughter of John
Crumpacker. Elsie Crumpacker married Mathias R Carnahan in Dec 1868 in Indiana.
