Since someone brought Hugh Carnahan up - and I know a lot of people
descend
from Hugh -I have a question for Hugh researchers. Where did the
information come from that Hugh was born in 1730 in Aberdeen, Scotland?
Does anyone know? That is an important piece of information because there
is proof that John Carnahan who married Jane and James his brother that
married Margaret Janny came from Ireland. Linda
That's an excellent question Linda and one I wish I had the answer for. When
you talk about documentation for Hugh all I have found is in North Carolina
except for the fact that Andrew Carnahan (Hugh's son) says he was born in
Baltimore Co., Maryland. This comes from his application for rev. war
pension. And then you indicated you had some documentation for a Hugh. I
keep seeing Hugh linked up as son of James Alexander Carnahan b. in Scotland
and d. abt 1790 in Pa. But... I have not ever seen any proof of that
relationship. Would love to know who Hugh's parents were and would love to
know who he married. This has been a mystery for sooooo long... <grin>.
Thanks and take care - Emma
