Linda is sooooo right. I am tracking down a John Carnahan. A lot of
them
served in the Rev. War...a lot of John Carnahans. My John was awarded
land
as payment for service. And there the record gets murky as he was
eventually booted off the land as it had been granted twice, to two
different individuals.

> Hi Wanda - DAR records are submitted by family members and there is no
doubt that family members thought that he was a Rev. War vet. What I said
was that the Revolutionary War records of James Carnahans (and there are
several) do not show one for him. You have to sort through them all to
determine which is which. Family members could easy show the DAR (in days
past - they are much pickier now) that there was a Rev. War record for A
James Carnahan and they would accept it as being their James Carnahan.
All
the Rev. War records for James Carnahans are already spoken for : )
and
with back-up research, too. It doesn't mean he didn't serve - it just
means
that I haven't found a record of his service yet. Linda
