Greetings and New Years Best Wishes,
This is the first of the unofficial Carnahan Bulletins for 2001. Bob
Carnahan <bcrnhn(a)juno.com> is in need of help concerning a letter which
contains some of the Carnahan family history. His communication follows
this note. Please check your files and let us know if you have a copy of
the information that he describes. Thanks to all.

Yes Donna, I still have not found this letter [written by Mrs. J.
M.Carnahan to someone
telling that she was staying in Nantucket to get away from the depression
and about the history that her husband's grandfather had written and that
they were preserving it for the grandchildren] even though I believe I
misplaced it rather than lost it.
It was one of the most important papers in my files and I feel a great loss
until I find it.
Some of grandchildren of General Madison Carnahan, born 1810, that was
married to 1st Mary Jane McElwain, 2nd to Ruth Ann Wilson, and 3rd to Mrs
Permelia Furman Coulson, were:
1. James M. Carnahan that married Lucy Sloper and Susie Runkle
2. Nettie Carnahan Ackley, died 1905.
3. Howard Carnahan, married Minnie Paul, now dead. He had children:
Marion & Christopher Paul Carnahan.
4. William Carnahan that married Cora Bannon.
5. Helen M. Carnahan, married William A. Calvert.
6. William James Carnahan that married Margaret Crowther.
7. Ralph O. Carnahan, died 1917
8. Donald S. Carnahan that married Barbar. Donald died 1973 Pa.
9. Cassius Carnahan married Florence Jane Mook
10.Lewis C. Carnahan
11.Lee D. Carnahan
I have no way of doing it but it might be a good idea to put out a query to
the Carnahan List and ask descendants of the preceding grandchildren to
contact us about the history of the Carnahans that is supposedly in their
possession.

Hi Bob:
Was just going through some of your e-mail and came across one in which you
could not find a letter written by Mrs. J.M. Carnahan to someone telling
that she was staying in Nantucket to get away from the depression and about
the history that her husband's grandfather had written and that they were
preserving it for the grandchildren.
Donna
