Hi Kristin,
Are you enjoying your visit home? We used to live in Tennessee and when we
came home for visits, we were exhausted...felt we had to see everyone and do
everything. There was still never enough time.
If you would like to send them here, that would be ok. I could check the
ones I already sent, then forward the others. Or if you want to send him
directly to Phil Carnahan, he could see what he posted then only post the
new ones. It is up to you. Do you need his address? Or I could send you a
list of who I have.
That would be so great to talk with someone who knows where the bodies are
buried. There are people that you named plus a few others that we suspect
are there but I could not find. Either they are not there or they do not
have a marked grave. I am also interested in what they are calling the
cemetery. I was always told Zion Cemetery in Munderf but the sign has
Munderf cemetery. Phil said he was changing his listings to Munderf
cemetery. What is it?
Grave sites I could not find:
*James Carnahan and Mary Fitz-Randolph
*Mildred Carnahan and Lyle McClelland
*Jennie Cooley Carnahan and Barbara Fair Carnahan - wives of Benjamin G.
Carnahan (he's there)
*Hugh Carnahan and Elizabeth
*Margaret Ann carnahan - her husbands are there - Jeremiah Maitland and
Joseph Harriger
*Rosa Burley and infant, wife of Charles Frederick carnahan
Mary Helen Carnahan Carlson (may be in Temple Cem.?)
William Alvin Black
Perry Edgar Black
Orpha Myrtle Black Shaffer Pase
Jay Herbert Black
Sarah Mae Black
Jennie Dora Black
Lelia Ella Black Boyer
John Monroe Black
Thomas Edison Black
Mary Black McKillip ?
Our plans were changed this week end, we are not going to DC but I'm not
sure what the plans are. Will you be there over the week end?
If we miss seeing you, have a great time, and thanks for all you do to share
the Carnahan history.
Sue

I just may take photos while I'm up there of all the ones I know of and can
remember - do I just e-mail them directly to you? That would probably be
better anyway to avoid any duplicates! We'll also probably be meeting with
the gentleman who has the cemetery records - I'll talk with him - he's VERY
knowledgable about the history of the area. I'd especially like to talk with
him about the lay of the cemetery - I believe there are several unmarked
Carnahan graves up there, based on what I remember my late Grandparents
telling me. If so, I'll document who and where they are so we know.
