Andy, I hadn't searched into the Dwyer's (O'Dwyer's) information much at
all, but Eileen Hahn told me that Mary Therese Dwyer (May, 1864--1939) was believed to
have been born in DunDarn Castle in Tipperary. ( I'm not sure if I have the castle
name spelled correctly.) Anyway, thank your for your information on Rose Dwyer; I'm
saving it for when I get farther on my personal tree.
Last Thursday, I finally found my other great grandparents on the 1900 U.S. Census!!
At that time, the last name was spelled "Nevels" Why the spelling changed to
"Neville" over the years I can't explain. But, they were all found in the
St. Louis area in 1900. Mary Carmody Neville (Nevels) had born 8 children, 5 of whom were
living.
She and John had been married for 19 years (marriage date about 1881.) John's father,
James Nevels (born January, 1827) had immigrated to the USA from Ireland in 1851.
John's brother, James, was living with his father at that time. (James Nevels, Jr.:
March, 1860--July, 1941)
There was a message from a Chrys Burke posted on the message board 12/24/2004.
Thomas Carmody was her great grandfather; she was looking for information on Elizabeth
Carmody and Martin Burke. I had sent a message to her--no reply as of yet--because I
think I'm related to her, also.
Some of the information I have yet to send you is from someone who was researching
the Boland side. I have found some of the information to be mixed-up (Some DOB's and
names confused in a couple of instances.) But, if you think it will help, I'll send
it, along with some info. from the Neville side.
Thanks again for your help!!
