I have a Carmody line in Chicago, IL. Do you know if John had a brother
Patrick whom married 1st Ellen Conley, and 2nd Margaret (last name unknown).?
The brothers were Blacksmith and had a shop in the Lakeview area. My John
Carmody had many children and is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, IL.
Let me know if this matches what you have!

We have a Daniel Carmody born abt 1822 found him on the Chicago Ill. 1880
census living with his daughter, Hanora Daughton, he died in 1892 and is
buried in the Calvery Evanston, Ill. cemetery. I wonder if he was the father to
your brothers, I have only found his daughter Hanora.
