Hi,
Do you have a line on the Michael Carmody that you are talking about? I am researching a
Michel Carmody b. May 1857 Tennessee who married Amanda (Manda, Mandy) Wells b. June
1852.
[ ] = my notes inserted below
The first handle that I can find is when he was a Boarder in a household in KY.
1880 Ky Todd co. Hadenville Dist 75 image 29 in the James B Fredrick household as a
Laborer:
Boarder: Carmody Michael W M 18 Boarder Farm Laborer born TN Fa Ireland Mo TN
I'd love to have any help with this. I'm looking for Michel's parents, or his
siblings.
Note: Michel's Father is noted to be born
1880 father b Ireland
1900 father b Tn
1910 father b Ireland (English) [I take it he spoke English]
Then his mother conflicts
1880 mother b TN
1900 mother b TN
1910 mother b NC [first instance of her possibly being from NC]
I know for certain that in the 1900 census this my line:
1900 Missouri, New Madrid County, East, Dist 72, image 7
house number: 194 family number: 196
GW [George Washington] head born April 1875 25yo; b. KY fa TN ma TN he's 25
married 2 years
Jennie [Wilburn] wife born April 1883 17yo; b. Mo fa il mo Mo 1 child
Ross son born Dec 1899 5/12 age [on 18th June 1900]; b. Mo fa KY mo Mo [Ross died
bef 1910 no male Carmodys from this line survived]
Michl ? [Michel] Father [to GW] W M b May 1857 43 yo; Married 26 yrs; b. TN fa Tn
[maybe Ireland]; mo Tn
Mand [Amanda Wells] [Mother to GW] Mother W F June 1852 47yo. Married 26 yrs; 2
children; 2 living; b. Tn fa Ky Mo Tn
James Brother W M b Dec 1881 18 yo; S b. Ky fa Tn Mo Tn
So with that being said, I have them moving from Tennesse to Kentucky between the years of
1857 when Michel was born to 1875 Kentucky when George was born.
--- Notice Michel's father's birth is noted as Irleand like the 1880 census, not
Tn in 1900 census. And his mother is reported to be born in NC so this conflicts with
what was reported in 1900 census, yet 1880 census reports her being born in Tn also.

I can't seem to get a line on them prior to this. I've been searching for years
and at the stage where I'm pulling my hair. I thought that I'd try different
avenues but I'm still coming up blank. I think it's the Carmody spelling
variation and the first name of Micheal, Myke, etc that's making it harder for me. I
have them in 2 census with George Washington Carmody who is my g grandfather.
there is my link to Carmody research, but the note on there about some of the
Carmody's is not proving to be my line.

If anyone can point me in a direction Please ;) help,
Thanks
