The link to your website doesn't work. I did find a CARMODY WEBSITE on-line, but I
couldn't figure out how to post a message or an e-mail.
I have been researching my family line, specifically all the siblings of my
g-g-grandfather, NICHOLAS CARMODY, b. May 18, 1860 in Ontario, Canada. He moved to
Cheboygan, Michigan and ran a sawmill there. His brother, JOHN CARMODY, was born abt.
1850, also in Ontario, Canada. John was listed as living in WASHINGTON, DC in 1929 (in
the obituary of their brother MICHAEL CARMODY). A brother, PATRICK CARMODY, is also
listed as living in Washington, DC in 1929. Another brother, DANIEL CARMODY, moved to
Washington and carried mail, by sled, during the Alaskan Gold Rush. A sister, ELIZABETH
CARMODY HACKETT, is listed as living in "Hosquim", WA in 1929.
I have found a JOHN D. CARMODY with connections to Michigan and Seattle, WA. His wife
is listed as MARGUERITE. His son, JOHN J. CARMODY, is listed as an editorial staff member
for the WASHINTON, DC POST.
I am trying to find out if JOHN D. CARMODY is the son of JOHN CARMODY, born abt. 1850 in
Ontario, Canada. Do any od these names connect to your line of Carmodys in Washington,
DC?
