Hi, I am the daughter of Larry P Carmody who died in 2002 at 64 yrs of age in
Miami, Fl. He was also from Phila, Pa. He had 1spouses and other children- I
am searching for my half-siblings whom I never met. I believe they could be in
Fl or Pa. Thank you!
Hi - My name is Peggy de Bethune. My mom was a Carmody. I have been trying to
put together my cousins families. One in particular, Frank Carmody b. 1922 in
Pitsburgh but was brought up in Scarsdale, NY. Most of our Carmodys came from
Mt. Vernon, Westchester Co., NY. At any rate Frank married Stella Marie
Carvin, a woman from the Philiadelphis area and they lived in Dresher, PA and
raised 3 children there, 2boys and 1 girl, Stella Marie Carmody, whose is unmarried
and a librarian. I must find the information about Frank's family - as I look
for it in my database and find that I did not enter. I did have some
correspondence with another cousin of the family who used to work with Frank in
Dresher. Stella Marie Carvin died Oct 1966 in Ocean City, NJ where one of her sons
lives and works as a cook.
Frank Carmody had a brother, Charles, who was a veteran of the war in the
Pacific and returned home with Malaria as a result. He married but the name of
his wife is unknown to me as are his children. I think one is called Robert.
This family seems to be located in Florida. Charles was considerably older than
Charles. He was born in 1915 in Manhattan. He died in 1971. Although born,
nurtured and died in NYC area, I do not think he lived his married life there.
Frank and Charles have a younger sister, Jane Carmody who married John Alden
Davison in 1966. I have been in irregular contact with Jane who is reluctant to
tell me about the family at all since she is fearful of my genealogical work.
I hope this will help you. Let me know if you think there is a fit. It's a
line that has been eluding me and it shouldn't because I spent some of my
childhood with Charles, Frank and Jane. If there is a connection I have quite a lot
of history for the older generations going back to their arrival from Ireland
which I wil be willing to share. Let me know what you have if you think we
match
