Our James Carmody fell out of the sky and landed in Nilwood, Macoupin County,
Illinois just in time to appear in the 1870 Census with a wife (Bridget
A'Hearn) and three children: Mary b. 17 March 1868, Thomas b. 3 April 1869,
and Patrick Michael b. 17 December 1869. James was supposidly born 30 January
1829 in Co. Limerick, Ireland and Bridget was supposidly born in Co. Kerry,
Ireland sometime thereafter. Bridget appears in the 1870 and 1880 census for
Macoupin County and as a witness on an 1896 baptismal certificate but
dissapears before the 1900 Census. Her death announcement has not been
located in any local newspaper between those two time periods. James was
buried in a cemetery in Farmersville, Montgomery Co., IL on 1 Februrary 1916
but the death certificate does not indicate which cemetery. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Dan Dixon
