Mike,
My Carmodys also came from Co. Clare about the same time period and settled in Falmouth,
Kentucky. They reared ten children with a lot of the same names you mention. If you're
interested I can give you more details.

Our CARMODY'S came from County Clare. Peter and Bridget (FLANAGAN) CARMODY
were married in Ireland circa 1836. Children: Michael (maybe named after
the father's father), John, (maybe named after the mother's father), James
(named after ?), Bridget (Maybe named after the mother's mother), Peter
(maybe named after the father), and Thomas. They came to the US in 1849,
not sure where. We found them in Kentucky where in 1854 where he made a
declaration of intent to become a citizen and in 1856 did become a citizen.
Other children born were William, Margaret (maybe named after the father's
mother) Catherine, Mary, Sarah, Ellen, and Ida. Many of the names are
similar as Ron's or Rom's. Of course they are good Irish names.
Later Peter and Bridget moved to Iowa. Cannot find a link to Ireland or to
other brothers or sisters.
