I, too, descend from Duncan Carmichael and Charity Witt through their son,
Solomon, then Thomas G., John Wesley, Charles E., and then my mother Anna
E. Carmichael.

Hi:
I am also from the Duncan Carmichael/Charity Witt line through son
Solomon. I
have the same infomation you have on Leminah and Thomas Climer. I have
compiled my database from a combination of Carmichael sites and my own
research
based on records of a Carmichael Bible in the possession of the daughter
of my
Grandmother's brother and extensive (but not finished) research in
Wichita,
Sedgwick County, Kansas. The only facts I am absolutely certain about are
the two
Solomon Ensley and the information I have researched and received from
others
on Solomon and Sarah in Green County Indiana. I have done very little
actual
research in No. Carolina or Scotland.
Solomon married Sarah Grubbs 2/15/1812 Stokes NC
Children were Thomas Grubbs, Willa Witt, Martha Witt, John Wesley, Sarah
M,
Solomon Ensley (my grgrgrandfather), Rebecca Jane, Nancy S, Amanda E,
Susannah
P, Louis F. The last 4 were born in Green County Indiana, the first 7 in
Stokes County, NC.
Solomon Ensley married Martha Elvina Weaver in Green County Indiana.
Their
children were William Brantley, John Riley, Nancy Emeline, Francis Marion,
Sarah Louise, Amanda Emeline, Thomas Wesley, Martha Lavine, Solomon Ensley
(my gr
grandfather) and Alice Belle. William and John were born in Green County,
the
rest in Illinois.
>From Illinois they came to Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.
Solomon Ensley married Martha Mary Bottjer. Their children were Lloyd
Franklin, William Ensley, Ruth R., Ella Marie (my grandmother), Lennis
Harold,
Harry, Mary Lavina, Harold James.
If anyone reading this is a descendant of either of the Solomon's listed
above and we aren't already in contact, PLEASE contact me
Thanks
Nancy in Kansas
