Daylily,
I think I wrote to you about Mica a few weeks ago. I've found very little out about
her parents. I found a Jane Knott who married a John Martindale in Greene County on
January 27, 1848. I believe she may be a sister to Mica but have nothing solid, just an
educated guess based on location and time.
I'm sorry to say that Marilyn who posted here in 2000 is deceased. She died in August,
2002. Her husband, Lloyd, mentioned in her post is my mother's 1st cousin. My maternal
grandmother and his mother were sisters. Marilyn gave me the only positively identified
photo of Reuben and Mica's daughter, Martha Jane Carmichael, that I've seen. The
original photo is (or was before they moved) actually hanging on the wall in the Greene
County Historical Society's office. Many years ago, I found a small tin type photo of
two women, which appeared to have been taken around the 1860s or so (to me, anyhow, but
I'm not an expert on dating photos). I believe the picture is Martha Jane and her twin
sister, Margaret Jane. Marilyn agreed back then. Other than these 2 pictures, I don't
believe, between the 2 of us, we had any photos of previous generations of our Carmichael
line unless she found some before she passed away and didn't get the opportunity to
share with me.
