I'm working on descending lines for children of James & Margaret Baxter Garrison.
Originally of York Co. SC.
They moved to Coweta & Carroll Co. areas of Ga. about 1833/34. In a abstracted will
for James Garrison Joseph & Mary H. Carmichael are mentioned.
Mary H. Garrison born abt 1816 SC, married Joseph W. Carmichael born SC, about
1814/15 , they married in Coweta Co. 1837. Joseph is listed on the 1840 census living by
four Garrison families that are all connected.
1850 Coweta James Garrison is living next door to a Patrick Carmichael, is Patrick and
Joseph W. Carmichael related??
I have census locations for Joseph for the 1840, 1850, 1860 census. Joseph dies in the
war in 1862, and then Mary H. and daughters move to Obion Co. TN. with at least two
Garrison families and Storey family members of a sister to Mary H., Nancy E. Garrison
married Cicero Storey in Coweta Ga.
Children of Joseph W. & Mary H. Carmichael that I have are: all birth dates are
approximate date. I believe all of the Georgia births would be Coweta Co. GA.. and any
births for AL. would be Fayette Co. Middle Div.
James H. 1838 GA. dies in war 1862, and I don't know if he ever married
William D.N. 1840 GA. ?? On the 1860 census: Carmical, William D. is
living with his grandmother Margaret Garrison and a uncle Baxter Garrison in Coweta.
McCain, Joseph R. is also living with this family and wondering if he connects??
Robert A. 1842 GA ??
Benjamin HC 1843 GA ??
Lousiana O. 1847 GA ??
Buena Arsta 1850 GA ??
Caroline 1852 GA ??

Mary J. 1861 AL.
On the 1870 Obion Co. census Mary H. Carmichael are living in Troy twp. next door to a
nephew J.F.Garrison.

Caroline 18 about 1852 Georgia

Tks, Brenda
