I have just quickly checked out a few things....first....this carmichael is
not a part of our linage....we are Alabama via South Carolina, Georgia
Carmichaels...LOL
I cannot find anything prior to 1850 either....I made a Census
timeline....starting with 1840...Wm. Crawford Chormicle is born in Missouri....(have you
written to a birth certificate or whatever they may find for Wm from Missouri
Vital Records???)
1850 - Wm C. Carmichael is living in Hickory Missouri with family of Robert
Miles....he is ten years old....no mention of brothers or sisters....
1860 Wm is 20 years old...nothing found
in 1864 Wm parried Levina C. Seward of PA ...they were married in Windsor,
Sonoma, CA 21 June 1864
1870 = Wm Carmichael 29 yrs old...and Lavinia 20..live in Mendocino, CA
1880 - Wm is 40 yrs old...spelled Carmichael with Lavinia 31 in Ventura, CA
1890 - no census...they burned
1900 - Wm. 60 years old
1910 - 70 yrs old
In 1920 Lavinia is 72 yes old living with son Charles E (43 yrs old)...they
live on Canon Road,,,California...they live next door to Frank and Eunice
Chormicle
1919 - Wm C. Chormicle died in CA
Now until you acquire some birth certificates....either of Wm and Lavinia's
children...or death certificates of Wm .....
on another note...Wm C. married Mary Bell in 1861 - she died in 1863....
all this info was found in the census....you have a mix up of name spelling
also...therefore the need for birth certificates and/or death
certificates.....I found that in 1850 the name is spelled Carmichael - in other years
Chormicle.....very confusing....
If there is anything else I can help with please let me know.....Wm's
parent's name....did he have any brothers or sisters that you know of....grave
pictures???
here again...seems you will have to come up with obituaries.....birth/death
certificates...in order to proceed.....I know this isn't much help....you must
have already done alot on family genealogy...I saw the "family
trees"....possibly a trip to Sedalia, Missouri??? sometimes you can find info in
libraries and/or historical society....
Good Luck....Ora of Kentucky
