Several New Web pages went online today.
http://patricia.rootsweb.com/carman.htm
On this page, the author, Patricia Tidmarsh draws
the topic to Controversies in Carman Genealogy.
In reality, there are very few disagreements
on the evidence and facts surrounding these
events. You cannot argue with evidence but
rather the interpretation of the evidence.
The contention on John Carman (for the newbie,
we are pretty sure the web author means the
immigrant ancestor for most Carmans in this
country) is not even delineated.
There is no contention on Adam Carman and
Philadelphia Titus since there is no evidence
to support any direct connection to Adam's
parents, so there is no "differing conclusions"
The web author states there are separate Carmen
trees but this is only a spelling variation.
Carman lines come from various ethnic groups but
no self respecting genealogist would identify a
family group or line simply by spelling. We are
talking blood relations here not how one spells
ones name. Especially if the ancestor could
neither read or write!
On the differing conclusions regarding the Rev.
Joshua Carman the web author doesn't offer any
differing conclusions, so I suppose we can guess?
The following page provides a post from years
past but the post has been edited and text no
associated with the originator has been inserted
into this article.

The date for the article is identified as June 1945
but the web author provides a scanned graphic of
the title page that is dated 1939???
Figure that one out!
