Hi Pauline
Thank you so much for the effort you are putting into this,
I think that the Jane aged 7 on the 1851 census is actually Jane Many who is
shown on the 1861 census living at Tycroes which is next door to Bola Hoil.
So I think the burial you have at Tycroes looks promising for Humphrey Myrig
died 1866 September qtr on Free BMD
Think you have sorted this now
You have Margaret Meirick 19 December 1813.
Looks like she married Owen Many about 1834 as Ann Many is shown on the 1841
census at Tycroes
So this would give the relationship of Meyric to Many
On the 1851 census at Tycroes Ann Many is shown as a brickmaker as on the
1861 at Bola Hoil is Ann Howells
Do you think that makes sense?
Thanks
John

Hi John
Going through my many indexes, the way this name could change is difficult
to follow......even with the ages, they do not correspond. I know in 1841
that the ages are rounded down but even so, big difference, but think they
are the same people.....my own great grandmother lost 10 years from her life
by the time she was buried!!! as did her husband!!
I have them in 1841 Evelfach Glyn hamlet Ponteberem area which is outside
Llanelly town.........at this time Anne Meyrick is 56 a labourer......with a
young child, next door in abode named France is a Mary Meyrick aged 14.
I have followed them in 1851 still in Evel Fach she is now agd 68 a widow
with son Humphrey an unmarried son aged 40 and grandaugher Jane Mary Meyric
agd 7.
We know we have them in 1861, but Ann is recorded as being 84 years old,
which does not correspond, her name being Myrigg........
I found these in the burials for Capel Ifan Ponteberem Glyn hamlet
1870 October
Anne MEARIG, Ponteberem village aged 75 years
there is this one not completed burial
1866 13 Sept. ??? MEARIG, Tycroes on farm from cholera aged 57
Again the spelling has changed, but Ann here is only 75...could or could not
be the same Ann....but no Meiric's there......and this spelling is not in
the census either, so could be Meiric/k etc......
I found another baptism if this is her of course...
1808 22nd December Llanelly parish church
Humphrey Thomas Meirick son James and Anne
1811 5th April
William Mdirick son James and Anne, collier
1813 19th Dec
Margaret Meirick dau James and Anne, collier, Gades glyn hamlet
so this proves that these are the one from glyn hamlet, the ones I have been
following, all with different spelling on the name....
if this is indeed your Ann this is the marriage
1805 5th May Llanelly parish church
James Meirick and Anne David
hope I am not leading you up the wrong path........but any info recorded is
worth it....Bolahall is also in Glyn hamlet
let me know what you think
Pauline

Hi Pauline
Thanks for taking the time to check this for me.
If you are correct with Meirick then in 1841 and 1851 I have found Ann
Meyric(k) living at Evel Fach Llanelly.
In 1851 a Jane Many is living at the household shown as a grand daughter.
Close to Maning ?
John

I'm assuming that the spelling of Myregg 1861 is a misprint of Meirick,
Myrick etc....but...I still cannot find them in 1851 or 1841 census will
keep on looking.
Found a possible baptism for William Meirick
1811 5th April Llanelly parish church
William Meirick son of James and Anne, collier.
will keep looking
Pauline
