HI Ralph
Not having much luck.......the only one is this one
1822 19th March Llanon parish church
David Daniel and Mary Thomas
There are 70 David Daniel's in my database from 1754-1837.......there are
two others to a Mary Thomas, but they are i 1749 and 1750......
Do you think they could have been from outside Carmarthenshire at the time
of their marriage?
Pauline

Pauline thank you for the look up. I don't think either one is the right
one. could you look for a marriage date for David Daniel and Mary
Thomasabout 1810 as the first child I have found for them was christened
12 Oct. 1811 in Llanllawddog. Thank you

Subject: Re: [CMN-L] New member - posting interests EDWARDS, DAVIES
Hi Marion
I too cannot locate the correct Edward Edwards in 1851 census.......Mary
Edwards could have been a servant at Llwynyrhebuck Llangadock in 1851 as
there is a servant born Llangadock aged 12 a servant to Herbert
Thomas......cannot see to connect another one...
Wonder where Edward was in 1851, I tried a couple of possibilites, but no
luck.....
Yes, if they were non-conformist as so many welsh people were, they would
not be baptised in the parish church, but yet, Thomas and Anne married in
the parish church in 1828........
Will see what non-conformist records I have for that era and area..

Hi Pauline
Thank you again - your spotting of Mary in 1841 led me to search for
her in other censuses, and in 1861 she is with Edward Edwards, age 81,
at the Hope Inn, Llandeilo. Also possibly an aunt, Elizabeth, born
about 1817 in Llandeilo. Cannot find either Edward or this Elizabeth
in 1851 however! If you are able to find anything further on these
two prior to 1861 I'd be very grateful. Elizabeth and Edward are still
at the Hope Inn in 1871.
The other children of Thomas Edwards & Anne Jones I am aware of were
Catherine b 1841, Edward b1843, David b1850 and Morgan b1852. It's
possible there were others born as there's a significant gap between
Edward & David.
In England, a family who appear in parish marriage records but not
baptisms are often non-conformist, not sure if it's the same in Wales
but it might explain the lack of baptisms.
Thanks, Marion

should have said married in the parish church in 1838, not 1828......as
everyone besides Quakers had to marry in the parish church prior to civil
registration of 1837....

Subject: [CMN-L] Griffith Jones of Llandybie
Firstly...a huge 'thank you' to Pauline for all your help with David Thomas of
Llangennech, and family.
I am now looking for another 2x gt grandfather, Griffith Jones.
Griffith was born on March 10th, 1850 to John Jones and Rebecca (nee Thomas), in
Landebie.
I have him on the 1851/1861/1871/1881 censuses and then lose him!
He married Ann Thomas (a widow), 6th July 1872, in Aberdare, and is entered on the
marriage certificate as a Coal Miner. They had David (my gt grandfather) 30th Sept 1872 in
Aberdare.
In 1881 he is married to a Mary , and living in Tyn-y-Coed, Bettws, with children, David
John (aged 9), Lizzie Ann (aged 7) and Rebecca
(aged 4). I am not sure if Mary is his second wife?
I am then unable to trace him and would welcome any help. I cannot find a death of a
Griffith Jones that ties in with his birth year.
Many thanks,
Lindsey
