Hi Faye
I will see what I can find for you, my mother was born in Huskissons Row
(not Hutchinsons) in 1919......her brother was born there in 1907 so my
grandmother who lived with her mother were in Huskissons Row just at the
turn of the century too.....it was a row of houses which backed onto the
railyway line, with backs of other houses in New Street facing
them........they were demolished in the 1950's but the back wall still
remains......
I will get back to you
Pauline

Hello Pauline,
Thank you ever so much for such a quick response and I appreciate the
information re Ethel Smith's parents from the 1891 census report.
Actually
we have very little information on the family as the research only
commenced
last week. At this point we are attempting to gather specific details
before purchasing certificates.
The baptism of Ethel on January 25, 1899 came from the Pembrey Parish
register Page 15 (1898/99) and showed her parents as James and Mary
Elizabeth Smith. -- the address appears to be Hutchinson's Row, Burry Port
and James occupation is laborer. It was presumed that the parents may
also
have married in the same area... but on the other hand family folk lore
exists that this may not be so and James
Smith may be an 'assumed' name...... We did note from Free BMD -- there
was
a possibility of a marriage..... could it be non comformist......are you
able to check Mary Elizabeth Francis marriage to a Smith in any way, as
this
is the name she used in later life. Any help you are able to give us
would
be such a help .... particularly so early in our endeavors.
With thanks Pauline,
Faye
