Hi Margaret
No, the information given on the marriage certificate is what would be on
the parish register too.....I always purchase the marriages from the parish
register which belong to me if they could sign their names, which I do like
to have, especially to cross reference with a will, or if they were witness
at another wedding....
The only way of obtaining additional information is by a birth
certificate....if after 1837 of course.
The index in Carmarthen registry office is by mothers name, although if you
only have the fathers name they will look for you.
Do we have them on the 1851 census, if not give me the information and I'll
see if I can find them for you, the mother should be mentioned and perhaps
we can go from there.....
My Davies family were in this parish for a short while.
speak soon Pauline

Hi Pauline,
Can you tell me if there would be any additional information in a Parish
Marriage Record that would not be on a marriage certificate? I am
searching
John Jones and Sarah Phillips, Newchurch 12th March 1867. Would there
be
both
sets of parents mentioned? I have the marriage certificate, which of
course
only shows the fathers.
Many thanks
Margaret Burrows
