Hello Elwyn,
Forgive me for butting in but when I spotted the names Daniel and Sarah in
the same Davies family in the mid-1850s, I was moved to write.
I've been searching a long while for the my GGrandfather Thomas William
Davies, born in Wales circa 1824 [some even say 1824] and who was married
in Canada in September 1852. He and his wife Alice, a local girl, raised a
family of six children and it just so happens that two were named Sarah
Elizabeth and Daniel Ross. I've long thought he might have come from
Carmarthenshire [perhaps Glamorgan] but I have no records to substantiate
either [all family records were lost in a house fire at the turn of the
last century.]
At this time, I don't even have any record to tie him back to Wales save
for his own declaration when he applied for homestead lands in the early
'80s. He gave Wales as his country of birth. In those days, Canada was not
yet a Dominion and all British born subjects were automatically Canadians.
Anyway, despite zillion Davies families of Wales, how many have both a
Daniel and Sarah in them. Perhaps your Daniel and Sarah and my Daniel and
Sarah are named handed down from a common ancestor. The six children who
survived birth were in order of age: Albert John [my gradfather], Sarah
Elizabeth, Rachael Ann, Lydia A [probably for Alice], Daniel Ross,
Frederick William.
Hope to hear back and good luck with your own search.

PS My wife was born in Amsterdam.

Hi Pauline,
Sarah Davies must have died between 1861-1871.Her husband Daniel Davies,
Mountain, Llangeler had died in 1842.I also tried Carmarthen Archives, but
they could also not find anything in records of Llangeler and Penboyr. Can
you find something in Kenarth records?
Will also try record office.
