Pauline and Cherlyn,
In response to the recent e-mail regarding Ty Isha Farm, Tumble, I can
confirm that the property still stands and is currently occupied.
The property had undergone a major 'refit' over the years, but part of the
original house/cowshed is still visible and is not occupied by four legged
animals of a different breed, namely, horses.
Ty Isha Farm was occupied by Jack Hughes during the Rebecca Riots and Jack
was an activist who was subsequently arrested and transported to Tasmania.
Could Jack Hughes be William Hughes' father???
If Cherlyn so wishes, I could ask the owner whether he would be prepared to
allow me to do so. On my visit there yesterday, the owner informed me that
he had a photo of Jack Hughes, outside his hut in Tasmania. This I believe
is somewhat dubious.
The story of the Rebecca Riots can be seen at
www.page-net.com/swansea.localhistory/pontardulais/pages/rebeccariots.html.
If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.
Brian
