Hi Phil
I missed the question to this one.....
Richard cannot remember where he obtained the information, as he done this
extract of information quite a few years ago.....it would have been in the
CRO though......as this is where we do all our indexing...
I have had a look at the 17 pages which are on this part of the members CD
and the spelling errors that I can make out, are from the 'old english
spellings'......this is how they were copied from the originals......names
are shortened and Carmarthen is spelt Caermarthen etc, as it was in the
1600's......it is a date/year format by each page , so you would not miss
information, as there is no name/year search on it, you have to go through
each page per year, it is the name of each Burgess of that time span.
If you let me know off line where the spelling errors are perhaps we can
amend....
thanks Pauline - Richard typed this not me!!!

Subject: [Cmn-L] Burgesses of Carmarthen
The CFHS members' CD contains notes on burgesses of Carmarthen
town, but
the source of this text is not apparent. It contains numerous simple
spelling errors, so I wonder if the names and dates listed are reliable ?
Also, do you know if other records of these burgesses survive - presumably
at Carmarthen Record Office?
Cheers
Phil
