Dear listers
Further to my earlier post about Rees and Jane PRICE of Llangadock, I,m also
looking for info regarding Naomi EVANS who married Daniel PRICE, son of Rees
and Jane PRICE, in 1883 in Merthyr Tydfil.
Naomi EVANS was born 22 Aug 1864 at Glanyrwyth, Llanfynydd, Llandilofawr,
Carms, daughter of Henry EVANS, carpenter, and Margaret EVANS, formerly
WALTERS (source: birth certificate).
The 1881 census has a Naomi EVANS, 16, born Carmarthenshire, as a servant in
Ystrayfodwg, Glam, presumably our Naomi, and in Neath, Glam, we find Henry
EVANS, 50, carpenter, born Llanon, Carms, and *Mary* EVANS, 48, dressmaker,
born Neath (looks like possibly a second wife for Henry - need to check
BMDs).
Two years later, Naomi married Daniel PRICE in Merthyr, naming his father as
Rees PRICE, roadman, and her father as Henry EVANS, carpenter (source:
marriage cert).
If some kind soul has access to the 1871 census for Llanfynydd, I'd be
grateful for any trace of Henry (age 40, a carpenter, born Llanon, Carms)
and (possibly) Margaret EVANS (age unknown, birthplace unknown), their
daughter Naomi (age 6, born Llanfynydd, Carms), and any other family with
them.
Any other trace of Henry and Margaret EVANS, probably in Llanfynydd in 1861,
would also be gladly received.
Best wishes and good hunting.
