Hi Marcelle
No, even today only the fathers names are recorded in the marriage record
not the mothers too......as Elaine stated a baptism record would be
helpful.....civil registration did not come into force until June/July 1837,
even after that year it was not law until 1874, so many still fell through
the net so to speak.
Will see what I can find
thanks Pauline

Subject: [CMN-L] DAVIES Enoch & JONES Margaret
Thanks again Pauline.
What I meant was that I was hoping the names of the Bride's & Groom's
parent/s would be recorded on the marriage record when Enoch Davies &
Margaret Jones were married on 22 March 1831.
I'm trying to find out Enoch's & Margaret's respective father/mother
Cheers
Marcelle
