Hello and thank you, Pat!
I wonder if there is some place to find out about 1830-41?
Also, does anyone know how big this place was? Do you suppose these were the
only people living there? It seems as if it were a one-family farm, with no
tenant farmers?
Is there some way I could find out when and how it changed hands between
1841-1851 and if there was possibly another family in between?
My ancestor who lived there was Daniel DAVIES--he was there sometime before he
came to the US in the early-mid 1840s--and he was a copperman. I am not sure
how long he lived at Llwyn Adam. I did not find him there on the 1841 census,
but have located him on parish records. He was born approx. between 1800-1810.
He had an older brother David W. DAVIES, b. about 1799-1800, also a copperman,
but I don't know if David ever lived on the farm.
Daniel's wife was a Phillips from Llanelli, where they were married and some of
their children were baptized. They lived at both Seaside and Wern, that I know
of, based on parish records. I have never come across a Joseph Davies in my
line, but that doesn't mean this one isn't related.
I will have to look back at some old research, but I think there were some
Griffiths in a cemetery here in the US with a connection to my Davies bunch that
I never figured out, so this may be that link.
Thanks, again,
Mona

Hello, List,
Is there anyone who can tell me who lived on Llwyn Adam farm, Pontaddulais,
from 1830-1850? I am interested in the owners, tenants, servants, everyone., and
any info available about each of them. Was this a big farm? I understand it is
still there. Is it occupied today? Also, if I could find out where this info is
available, that would help.
Thank you!
Mona in Wisconsin, USA
