Subject: [Cmn-L] Morgan Morgan Carmarthen Census help
I am posting this to both lists as I have had much help from both and am
very appreciative. However, I have not found Morgan (Emyln) Morgan in
Wales,
the possibilities are the 1861 or 1871 census. His dob was June 20 1853
or
1852-1855, US records show June 20, but the year varies. He should be in
or
near Llangeler, Carmarthen. Parents Thomas and Ann Morgan are with the
family
in Henfryn, Llangeler, Carmarthen on the 1871 and 1881 census, but Morgan
is
not with them (in US by 1880). Can anyone check to see if Thomas and
Anne
Morgan and family are in Henfryn in 1861 or 1851? (The family is in
Llanllwich, Johnston, Penreol in 1841) Family history says Morgan worked
as a tutor
prior to leaving Wales, so he may be with another family by 1871. He is
in
the US in 1880 Michigan census, living with cousin Evan and Susanah
Roberts.
On the 1881 census in Henfryn, in the Thomas and Ann Morgan family there
is
a sister, Anne born Abergwily 1857. Is there an 1861 census for Abergwily
that anyone can check to see if the family is there? (hopefully with
Morgan) I
have info on older brother John Morgan in Wales, but Morgan is not with
him
until they are both in the US)
Several of the older children of Thomas Morgan are on the St. Peter’s
baptism list, but I have not found Morgan on this list. Any advice as to
how to
proceed would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance for any help.
