OK, here is what I have so far:
Found on 1901, know to 100% correct, worked back from there:
Marriage certificate :
Married 14th April, 1894 at the Tabernacle Chapel, Llandovery to Thomas
Davies also of Caio.
Elizabeth 21 years, spinister, living at Parkglas, Aberdare, Caio, father
John Davies, retired farmer.
1891 Census
Pantlas, Caio (written as pontglas)
John Davies (retired farmer), single, 68.
Elizabeth Davies (daughter), single, 17
1881 Census
Benjamin Daives, 57 Pencarreg
Mary Davies, wife, 62, Caio
Thomas Davies, grandson, 13,Caio
Elizabeth Davies, granddaughter, 7, Caio
John Davies, 58, Caio, lodger, farm labourer.
When I searched 1891 Census, I found that the grandfather above, Benjamin,
was living next door at "Aberdare", Caio.
Having nothing much to go on, I searched back Benjamin. Found he had 3
daughters and that the Thomas above was a twin living with them with one
of the
daughters. Hence, he may be a cousin of Elizabeth.
Family tell me that Elizabeth had no sisters, one brother, called Emlyn
that
I cannot find for love or money.
On her marriage certificate, she puts a father as John Davies, retired
farmer and he links back to 1891 and 1881, but not listed as her father,
listed
as
single. Either the Census is wrong, or perhaps used on her marriage
certificate so as not to put as illigitamate?
If you need any more info - let me know.
Thanks
Helen
