Newchurch is a church and a parish........I looked in Newchurch parish
church baptisms, but no Morgan Morgan/s......
The 1861 census was taken around March/April, all the census were taken
around that time except for 1841 which was taken in June....there is a list
of dates on a website....
Where did Rina find them in 1861, you did not say if in Glam or Carms.....
When you say to find a marriage, do you mean Thomas Morgan/s and Ann.....do
you think it took place before 1837? If so we can look for them. What year
are we looking for? Who are the older children baptised in St Peters and
when.....just to give us a starting point
regards Pauline

Hi, Thank you all for the replies and many thanks to everyone for
all
your
help. I am delighted with all the information and new leads.
Rina found Morgan on the 1861 census and it is my Morgan Morgan(s) with
the
Thomas and Ann Morgan family. This was the only possibility of finding
him
on a census. I found some of the older children of Thomas and Ann in the
St.
Peter's baptisms, but I did not find Morgan. If he is born Newchurch
instead
of St. Peters, is that another church or parish? Can anyone tell me what
time
of year the 1861 census was taken? If it is before June 20, then Morgan
is
born 1852 and if it is after... I am eager to write for a birth
record...
probably for him and a few siblings.
Pauline, Thanks for the offer. I did get the 1851 census. According to
the 1881 census, Thomas Morgan was born about 1809 in Bridgend,
Lanblethian,
Glamorgan. Would it be more likely that the couple would be married in
her
parish or his? Or, if the children are born St. Peters, is that the
place to
start a search for parents marriage? It may be that I should hunt for a
death
record for Thomas and Ann first? Thanks to everyone again, I am off to a
new
start.
