Hello Helen
If she was born in 1873/74 - have you not been able to find her in the
1881 census?
Why not give us her name and all the details you have, presumably her
marriage certificate did not have a father's name?
RE your question regarding the parish church - there is only a small
chance that she was a member of the parish church - a non-conformist
chaple is much more likely - so the best place for you to try is the
register office - but you need to know the birthplave on order to decide
which register office is appropriate.
Cheers
pat

Hi,
I'm looking for inspiration. I have one relative that I am trying to trace.
I am trying to get hold of her birth certificate. Question : If I have her
marriage, know roughly (but not exactly) when and where she died, how do I
trace her birth if her parents are unknown.
I understand that at around her birth 1873/74, it was not law to register
the birth. Is there anyway of finding out. I am shortly going to Wales.
Would the local parish church (Caio) be able to help or is a trip to the actual
register office needed?
Any inspiration or ideas welcomed.
Many thanks
Regards
Helen
