Thanks Henry
The programme you mention almost tempts me to invest in Sky Digital.
By the way, that makes the score 2-1 to the backs (as opposed to the bakes)!
Thanks

Subject: Pronunciation: RACHIE
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed
Hope you will all forgive an OT enquiry.
The male voice choir I sing in in West Yorkshire is learning Caradog
Roberts's Rachie (English words). How is the title pronounced? Is the a
as
in English "back" or as in English "bake". I assume that the ch is as
in
Charles and not as in Welsh "bach".
Thanks hopefully
David Jenkins (Steeton MVC)

David
Rachie is pronounced "a" as in back.
We sing this item regularly in our MVC. If you have Sky Digital you can
hear it and see it on Easter Sunday in S4C programme "Dechrau Canu Dechrau
Canmol" at 8.00 p.m. - recorded two weeks ago in Morriston Tabernacle,
Swansea
with 360 MV choristers from 11 male choirs.
