Hi Helen,
Have you read the Edwinsford Estate records on
www.archivesnetworkwales. It
doesn't solve your problem but makes interesting reading.
Why do you think James was not the father ( he would have been 17)- or it
could have been Edwin who was 15 in 1874 (they were pretty precocious back
then, more so than now , I think. Nearly all my husband's ancestors had
babies just after their marriages.) Did you get the 1861 Census record I
sent? the two brothers are included on there. They seem to be the siblings
of James H W W sons of Lady Drummond and James Drummond Senior.
I'll keep looking too - it will be a break from searching for my ancestors
(who were not aristocratic).
Good luck
Viv

Hi Viv,
Thanks and I appreciate all your trouble. I think this is the same
family,
not sure. I am trying to find all the siblings i.e., if Sir James.
On
the
census, it shows a Lady Drummond aged 45 who must have been married
to
Sir
James. I wanted to find all the children i.e., Sir James;s brothers
and
sisters. The reason - my great grandmother was illigitimate and I am
told the
father was Drummond, a brother of Sir James Drummond. They were
having
an affair.
The child in question was born 1874. So I'm looking for a
brother old
enough to be the father around 1871. I seem to find all sons/daughters
of Sir
James going down the line, but never across i.e., brothers/sisters.
Searching the net, I find that Sir James Hamlyn Williams Williams Drummond
was the heir and that his father and grandfather before him were also Sir
James, but I just can't seem to find brothers and sisters?
Regards
Helen
