Hi Mary Jane
Thanks, as I said to Diana, if this is the case I am researching the wrong
family!!!!!!!!!!
My great gt grandparents both had David in their families as father and
grandfather, but they did not name any of their children
David.............no idea why??

This naming pattern is very customary in Scottish families but I have
never been able to use it in my Welsh family.
My Graham and Davidson Scottish families followed this pattern and I was
able to use it to figure out the names
of previous generations but not in Wales.
