Dear Pauline
Thanks for the advice.
I cancelled my free trial before the 24 hours were up and they still charged
me one pound.. I am on broad band.
I do have a year's subscription to ancestry UK, so am fine with the census
and bmd things. What I am interested in is looking for mentions which might
be elsewhere. I also have an interest in Newport and Swansea.
I am looking in particular for a reference to Macy Francis, possibly a
solicitor in Carmarthen, who has a strong connection to my Taylors.
I think I might have found him, but the enumerator has handwriting which is
difficult to read. I am not even sure of the street address.
If you have access, please could you look at the 1851 St.Peter's Carmarthen
census. HO107 Piece 2473 Folio 297 p 19, 82 Spelman ? St.
They say the name is Mary Thomas, but I think it could be Macy Francis. Also
what does the Hml stand for in Hml A Taylor, and would a woman be an
accountant at that time?
I have sent a few messages to the list, but apart from one you answered a
few years ago, I have not had any replies. I probably ask the wrong
questions or in the wrong way.
I am really happy to join if you think there is anything on my Wades, Taylor
and Macy Francis in the wills, or other areas. I have all the cesus and Bmd
for the immediate Wade and Taylor lines. If I could I would be scouring the
records in person.
Regards
Heather

Hi Heather
Richard is looking into it for you, the system seems to be slow today for
some reason......perhaps your server is slow? Are you on broadband as you
need to be to view the site.....Richard can see you on the free trial....
We do not only cover Carmarthenshire but lots of South Wales including all
1841 census images for Wales........there is also a very active members
list where we all help one another and try to knock down some brick
walls...
I am willing to look for someone if you wish, to see how many are there
and to see if it is worth your becoming part of CFHS.....if you opt for a
monthly subscribtion it does not entitle one to be a member just a
subscriber to the online indexes.....many more to be added as we
speak...members are indexing frantically to get them together.
There is a very comprehensive Birth Death and Marriage database from the
actual certificates........this is a real bonus to us this year........
let me know Pauline
