Hi Diana
I do not have registers for Marros.......that is on the Pembs border.....I
looked for baptisms for a Margaret williams at the time in question, there
was an Evan Jones a relative putting in information onto the IGI for a
Margaret Williams.......but they were mainly marriages......there are lots
and lots of Margaret Williams around that time, but not Llanelly......in
1820 there was a Margaret William to John and Margaret in
Llangendeirne......the one in 1826 took place in Newchurch....cannot find
one in Llanelly, and she did state born Llanelly on the census returns you
have......
Ask in CRO anyway where John Williams senior lived and his
occupation........they may look and find siblings for you....
Llanelly has lots of people who were not baptised in the parish
church......lots of them were staunch chapel people. They had already
purchased a plot of land by early 1850's just to bury their dead as they did
not want them to be buried in the parish church ground......
regards Pauline

Hello Pauline - thank you for that one in Llanelly. Is there a
Margaret
born to the same parents about 1826?What about the one in Marros with
parents John Williams and Mary? I did find a John Williams as a son and
also a Margaret around the right years of birth on the IGI. I ask
because I have had so many relatives who have put one place on their
census returns and they have turned out to come from somewhere totally
different. Before I contact the archives I wonder if you would be good
enough to look that one up.
Diana
