Hello Margaret
I seem to have missed your original communication?
A suggestion is that Cwmbath is Cwmbach, there are
several in Wales but one is also in Glamorgan in the
Cynon Valley near Aberdare. There is also a Cwmbach in
Carmarthenshire.
For an old map try

Do you have birth dates of David Harris and his
prospecive wife Mary Thomas and have you tried the
1881 Census on line? at

Hope this helps

Hi Pauline,
received the Glam 1871 CD yesterday..thanks very
much!
I've ploughed through it but no luck so far in
finding my David HARRI(E)S and his prospective wife
Mary THOMAS (to be married 4 months later in
Llangyfelach parish Church).
Any hints on searching??.there is a street index,
but the only possible address I have are
"Morriston" on wedding certificate (1871) for both
parties and "Cwmbath,"(1876) which is also an area
as opposed to a street. I've tried a few nearby
streets from a modern map, but of course many of
those streets did not exist then! (Even the ones
which I thought were very old!)
Would it help to print that area out somehow?
Help!!
Hwyl
Margaret.
