HI Jenny
As a member you have access to CFHS online indexes which has 1841 and 1851
indexed .........
Have we looked at box cemetary to see who is in the grave with her, do you
think they had a headstone, as we have digital images of the old section - I
don't do lookups on these, but Newby is a name that jumps out at you as
there are 6 separate sections....
I am sure that without the bride's name they could find John Newby in the
1860's........once they find John they could find his wife......any sign of
them on BMD's.....
Ages on deaths or census etc, always be pliable as they are not always
correct, my great grandparents are buried in Box and both ages were 10 years
light!! Instead of her being 88 in 1930 being born in 1843 the age given
was 78.......but on each census she did lose 2 years!!
Yes, try again......I do not have the email for Llanelly but I know they
have one........unsure if for queries...
Pauline

Sorry Pauline, I meant Registry Office, at the link
Registers(a)carmarthenshire.gov.uk
They wanted more information, which I haven't got for Mary. Has anyone
got the 1841 Llanelly census, she could be about 11/12 on that?. You
would think with a name like John Newby it would be easy to find their
marriage. I thought they had got married mid 1860's as my G.Grandmother
was born in 1868, her brother George in 1866. I think I'll contact them
again, and can I contact Llanelly Register Office by E-mail too, or is
that under that link as well? Mary Morgans is becoming a brick wall, until
I find a birth or marriage I can't do any more work on her. I know she
died in 1886 at 52 yrs, and is buried at Box Cemetery, Llanelly, as I have
the death certificate, but that makes her born in 1834, not 1829. It
states she is 52 on the 1881 census, which makes her 7 on the 1841 census
not 11/12. Confusing, or what!!!
Thanks Pauline,
Jenny 5007
