Hi Sue
Me butting in here......you say that you were informed that 'Llanllwch' is
on the border of Llanelli, it is not, Llanllwch is part of Carmarthen, when
Carmarthen St Peters became too large it split into three parishes, namely
Carmarthen St Peters, Carmarthen St Davids and Llanllwch.....
Tunnel Road is off Marble Hall Road, so not too far away, and Seaside is
where the names states by the sea. The area has changed so much now with a
big chunk of it demolished for new roads etc.
Recap Diana and myself incase we can help you go back that little bit
further......Did Elaine say to check with Carmarthen registry office if she
was born in Crosshands?
regards Pauline

Hi Diana
I am not sure of the birth date of my William Morgan(s) your date of 1834
is
a possible his occupation was a Coal Miner, he also married an Elizabeth
(nee?) b approx 1829 also death date could also tie in! William was not
alive when his daughter got married my GGrandmother in 1898.
I think they must have been living around Llanelli somewhere, the only
that
does not stack up is William's daughter (according to 1901 census she was
born in Cross Hands in 1873). But alas! I am still unable to trace
Elizabeth's birth record via Camarthenshire Registry. Elaine Hopkins
did
quite a bit of research for me sometime ago but did suggest an area of
Llanllwch which I understand is on the border of Llanelli.
I am not sure where Seaside is, as I am not familiar with the areas of
Llanelli even though I was born there around the Felinfoel area. My
GGrandparents lived for a while in Tunnel Road sometime around 1900,s.
This one is still a bit of a brick wall for me! I have not been able to
get
past 1873. I must admit dates you have provided look around the right
times
but I don't have anything to confirm any connection.
Look forward to hearing from you as I definitely need help with this one.
Kind Regards

Subject: [Cmn-L] Re:William Morgan
Hello Susan - I have a William Morgan born 1834 (son of William Morgan
1806
and Margaret Francis 1809 married 5th Aug 1831) in my family with wife
Elizabeth William born 1837 (dau of John Willliam 1804 and Margaret
Wilkins
1805 married 22nd Nov. 1825). William and Elizabeth married at Sion
Chapel on 2nd December 1856. Now these dates may be too far out for
you. In 1841 the Morgan family were living in Seaside. In 1851/1856
William Morgan was living in Marble Hall. In 1861 he was living in
Western
Row. In 1871 he was living in Rhandir Cottage. In 1881 Elizabeth his
wife was living in Rhandir and William was dead by 1881. If it does tie
up then I can go back a further generation. I have not done much work on
this. All my time seems to be spent chasing my John William 1835 (no
direct relation to the above William of Marble Hall)!!!
