Pauline...Finding myself reenergized now. Is there any possibility
that I
could have a copy of Wms signature?(have a scanner) Still striving to find
where Wm came from. Know he had a managerial position at the mine and was
in
charge of separating and clearing the lead ore and was in ill health
dying
in March 1847(b. ca. 1800-1801). Son Morgan then took over fathers job at
age 16. Morgan was educated at one of primitive elementary schools in
Cilycwm. He later became a mine owner and US Congressman in Pa. Continue
to
search for Wms birth and death details. Thanks for starting my New
Year
out
with new zeal....Bill

Pauline..Checking whether you got my mail of 1-5-07(during your time of
grief). Do
know that Williams family were members of Salem Calvanistic
Methodist Chapel when third eldest son Daniel was christened in 1836. Family
lived in Pentwyn, Rhandirmwyn parish of Llanfair-ar-bryn.Wm died at age 46
in March of 1847..Where would he be buried? Are there any records that might
show his place of birth? Wife, Rachel James was a native of the county above
having been born there in 1811..Any way of finding her parents and kin? Know
that sometime after Wms. death she remarried to one William Theophilus who
also predeceased her. Some confusion regarding censuses. 1861 Census has her
as Rachel Williams, widow, farmer with son John age 18 and Timothy Williams
age 7. 1871 Census lists her as Rachel Theophilus, widow, housekeeper and
Timothy Theophilus age 17 miner..Let me know if I should resend my
1-5-message. Thanks again....Bill
