Hi Jennifer
The registers for Llanybydder are in Carmarthen record office, these are
what they hold
parish registers
baptisms: 1783-1972
marriages: 1754-1970
burials: 1783-1904
There are also bishops transcripts (held in NLW) but these do not appear on
the IGI....
you could request a look-up from the archives from the parish registers if
you think he could be there, as they now charge for the service.

There are a few non-conformist chapels in that parish - namely Aberduar
baptist chapel, Rhydycymerau Calvinistic Methodist, Abergorlech Independent
and Rhydybont Independent chapels.
Your other question re Llanbedr - yes that is the correct spelling, I have
checked in 'Parish registers of Wales' and that is how they have spelt it.

andBrownsofLlanbyddaror Llansawel
Hello Pauline,
Many thanks for having looked for my Benjamin Jones and Catherine BROWN in
Llansawal & Llanbyddar. I'm a bit at a loss now where to look, especially
for Catherine. Might have some hope for Benjamin JONES should the
registers
pre 1813 for Llanbyddar be available in the future.
Just one question about the place of their marriage in 1834 given in IGI
as
Llanbedr. Breconshire. Can anybody tell me if that is the full spelling of
the town or village or is it an abreviation?
Knowing it's out of Camarthenshire, perhaps there is mailing list
specifically for Breconshire to which I could put the question?
Best regards to all
Jennifer (France)

I have looked at my marriage index 1754-1837 for the Brown
surname......that
surname was not in either Llanybydder or Llansawel, it was mainly in the
south part of Carmarthenshire not that far up the county.
There were 69 male Brown's in all......
