Hi Jane

Merthyr Tydvil
6 Cwmglo
Thomas Harries hd marr 48 coalminer born Llanstephan
Elizabeth wife 44 born Merthyr
Vaughan son 18 coalminter b Merthyr
Sarah dau 14 gen servant
Jane dau 11
Elizabeth 9
Ellen 7
Maria 4
William 2
all born Merthyr Tydvil
I have indexed Llanstephan parish church registers and there is not a
baptism for Thomas Harries......
There are quite a few non-conformist chapels in Llanstephan maybe he
belonged to one of those....the ones that do have records available are on
the IGI
The only Thomas Harries/is I can locate in 1841 is the one I gave previously
with a Roberts family aged 9........what do you think?
Do you know when he went to Glamorgan ?
Pauline

Hi Pauline,
In 1871 Thomas was in Merthyr Tydfil. He had a wife, Elizabeth, and 8
children. Thirteen altogether by 1883. They lived in Cefn Coed y Cymmer at
some stage. He went to Merthyr to work in the mine according to the
source
I had from the Salem Chapel in Heolgerrig.
On the 28th January 1886 Thomas Harris was killed while working at Cwn
Pit.
The Rev. I. J. Evans of Salem Chapel conducted the service.
The burial records my source checked found five Harris buried in the
municipal cemetery, but I am not sure which cemetery and the strange thing
is that i went over a lot of the Cefn Coed cemetery last year and found my
grandmas grave with my grandparents and some of her Harris siblings in it.
I
just live too far away!
William Harris buried 2nd November 1877 at 14 years of age
Thomas Harris buried 29th November 1886 at 2 years of age
Thomas Harris buried 29th November 1886 at 54 years of age
Gwen Harris buried 4th January 1887 at 3 years of age
Elizabeth Harris buried 2nd November 1922 at 85 year of age.
This is all I know,
Thanks again
Jane
