Hi Diane
No we do not use the IGI for our marriage index, we used the actual parish
registers, unless like Llanddeusant they are missing and the B.T's which
were available in CRO where we indexed all our material were used.
You will not be able to purchase actual parish register films, the
non-conformist reels can be purchased but not parish registers as they
belong to the Bishop.

Hi Pauline Thanks for this. What is your source for this marriage?
The
IGI? The reason I thought she was called Margaret Thomas is because the
children's baptisms on the IGI state Thomas as her surname, however having
looked again, some of them have Margaret David or Davis listed as mother.
Owen was a Calvinist Methodist and the children were baptised at
Twynllanan Calvinistic Methodist church in Llanddeusant between 1816 and
1833. Owen was a Minister there so I would have thought he would have got
the names right in the PR but there is a chance it has been transcribed
wrongly or he wasn't the Minister until later. Or he had two wives called
Margaret. What a fun job this is ... I have not checked the originals
which was why I wanted to try and buy them as the LDS can be a bit slow.
Apparently there are two chapters on Rev Owen Lewis in a book called
Efengylwr Seion which I think means Evangalist of Zion. It was by Rev
James Morris, Penygraig and dated 1905 and contains sep!
arate chapters about different preachers. A kind lady has offered to scan
it for me when she has time and then I will have to get it translated into
English. Rev Owen Lewis is also mentioned in The History of the Methodists
in Carmarthenshire although I don't have a copy of this book. Diane> From:
