Agreed DIANE of course there are thousands of us who share your
sentiments. In my home town of Deal most buildings of historic value that
were occupied by the council .have been sold to private vendors.
Its noticeable that most are not allowed to change the outside structure
,windows etc ,keeping with the original look does help .
Many internal parts were converted to luxury flats, this prevented the
undesired tennants taking occupancy.
Each local council has a variation of funds ,some more richer than others.
If the community charge is increased to maintain and repair the older
buildings .people are far from happy,so many go along with the sales.
However when new council offices ,the size of a large supermarket are
suddenly erected ,its not even contested.
If people ask why have the local town toilets been closed down or free
parking been taken away.Or the childrens play areas closed.
Theres little or no response from council members. To protest in this day and
age one is classed as militant and oppressive.Your card is marked as an
activist .and its not very long before an armed response unit kicks your
door down,best wishes JOHN MORRISS
.

A very sad state of affairs. Possibly a few stern letters to the powers

places are destroyed or desecrated, there is no getting them back.
Greed is destroying our heritage and that's something that should not be
permitted to take place.
