Hi Jan
look at the bottom of your screen it will tell you that it is
downloading.....hope you have broadband........it will open..
Llanycrwys is not near Llanllwch.......there are so many questions with our
grandparents etc......through one of our (CFHS) members indexing Jerusalem
Chapel in Burry Port Pembrey parish at that time, she found a record of a
burial of a child to Sarah Harwood, I enquired at Llanelli registery office
to be told it was not Sarah's......when in fact it was her daughters (my
grandmothers child) when she was only 16 years old..........the information
is only as good as what was given by the informant.......through years of
indexing etc it does come to light that quite a few 'porkies' were
given....its a wonder that any of us can find any of them.....
If you want the story of my great grandfathers sister from Kent who had 3
illigitimate children from her sisters husband, fathers given name was her
brothers (under pretence), then went on to marry a surgeon.......she must
have been some woman!!.......her lover was a business man from Kensington
and left money to their children, but not stating he was the father!!
Complicated story but made me realise not all that is written is
true.......This came to light because my great grandfather who moved to
Swansea and worked for his brother in law, baptised this child named
Septimus Lines Harwood, giving names and addresses of both mother and
father.......he must have wanted the story to be found........which I found
a person researching the family and was flabagasted with the results......
I will see what I can find for you....we all love a detective story......so
the moral of the story is Never Give Up.................
good luck Pauline

Thank you Pauline,
I did try & it didn't work, will try again (or get my 13yr old daughter
to have a look for me!!!).
I was interested mainly to find out if Llanllwch was near Llanycrwys. Its
a long story, trying to solve a family mystery (a missing father, no one
ever knew who he was etc etc!!).
I found a postcard in with some photos in my husbands Aunts house, it
wasn't addressed to his family it was sent to a neighbour but for some
reason it was in his family's house. The story goes that his Mamgu was in
service abt 1900/1901somewhere in Carmarthenshire & came home pregnant &
had a baby who was brought up by an older married sister & husband as
theirs. The "child" was only told as an older man that his mother wasn't
his mother etc etc. None would say who the father was, except "Tailor" was
mentioned, no one knew if it meant his name was Taylor or that he was a
Tailor. I recently traced the marriage for Mamgus parents & found her
mother was from Llanycrwys & then found Mamgus sister in service at the
farm in 1901 where Mamgus mothers family were from.....& a few doors down
was a tailor & living with them was a 17yr old boy - Isaac Thomas, who was
also a tailor!!! Im thinking that maybe mamgu was also in service at the
same farm as her sister!!!
My brain has been going round in circles since finding this info, but
obviously no way of proving anything. Just playing detective. I don't
expect you follow any of that, but I know what I'm talking about!!
Any thoughts or advice would be great!!

if you go to
http://www.uk-genealogy-online.com
click on Carmarthenshire FHS on the left hand side.......then when this

appears there is a link for you to Download Carmarthenshire parish
map.....this will help you know where each parish is situated......
Llanycrwys in north Carmarthenshire above Conwil Caio......Llanwrda is
south
of Conwil Caio....
both a distance from Llanllwch which was one of the 3 parishes of
Carmarthen
Town....namely...St Peters, St Davids and Llanllwch......
