Hi Pauline
Thank you also for your kind offer. I don't have much more information other
than what I sent to Sian as below - there were no other children as far as I
know - at least none that survived. The boy Aaron probably bp at Caernarfon
[born there] that I must look for but the girl Jane Caroline was born in
Carmarthen - at least her birth was registered at Carmarthen during the
March qtr 1859. so should be baptized somewhere in the area. After the Rev
Aaron Rbts's death at the age of 49 yrs we have his wife - who was born in
Caernarfon - becoming the matron at Wellfield Rd High Grade School [1891
census] but as previously mentioned, in 1901(census) - death registered June
qtr - she was a boarder living on own means at Quay Head and it's obvious
that she was unwell as her sister was staying there caring for her. I don't
know when he left Caernarfon other than after the birth of the son in Sept
qtr 1857 and Jane was born as mentioned in 1859. He was at Newchurch
described as incumbent of Newchurch and chaplaincy of God? in the 1861
census. Was he at another church in the Carmarthen area prior to 1861 but if
his children died after he became vicar of Newchurch one would have expected
them to have been buried there unless he was elsewhere and a child died soon
after birth between March qtr 1859 and 1861 and they purchased a grave at
that unknown church. A possibility I suppose. There are quite a few
Roberts's on the BMD during that period including two Mary's in 1860 and
his mother's name was Mary. I'm afraid that's all I can tell you about them.
Thank you for going to such trouble
Regards
Angharad

HI Angharad
so pleased that Sian has offered to try to help you.........the parish
Vicar
would probably be buried in his own parish church graveyard.......that is
what I have come across anyway.
I have looked in various parishes for any of these Roberts......will try
looking further afield....do you have any extra information, other
children
etc., as I cannot see him baptising his children in Newchurch or
Llangadog/oc........any little clue would help
regards Pauline
